Delete Your KarmaClock Account
How to request that your KarmaClock account and all associated data be deleted.
How to request deletion
To delete your KarmaClock account, send an email to karmaclock.app@gmail.com with the subject line "KarmaClock account deletion".
Include in the email:
- The email address associated with your KarmaClock account.
- A confirmation that you wish to delete your account and all associated data.
We will confirm receipt within 3 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days. You will receive a final confirmation email once the deletion is complete.
What is deleted
As of v1.0.6, your profile, karma log, reminder preferences, and any push notification token are stored only on your device. Uninstalling the app or tapping Reset in Profile deletes them immediately and completely — no server-side request needed.
The email-based deletion process below applies if you previously signed in (a feature reserved for upcoming paid features and not currently surfaced in the app), in which case the following server-side records are permanently removed when your request is processed:
- Your account record (email address and authentication identifiers stored in Supabase
auth.users). - Any analytics events tagged with your account identifier in PostHog.
What is not stored server-side (and therefore not part of this deletion process):
- Your profile (date of birth, lifespan estimate, time zone) — on-device only.
- Your karma log — on-device only.
- Your reminder preferences — on-device only.
- Your push notification token — on-device only.
What is retained, and for how long
A minimal record may be retained for up to 90 days after deletion solely for:
- Fraud prevention and abuse investigations — limited to your account email and the date of deletion.
- Compliance with applicable legal obligations (for example, tax or audit records, where applicable).
After 90 days, all retained records are permanently purged. We do not retain your karma log, profile, or any usage data beyond the deletion date.
Anonymous analytics
KarmaClock uses PostHog for product analytics. We collect event names (for example, “karma_logged” or “app_opened”), event timestamps, and basic device metadata (operating system, app version, device type). We do not collect karma action descriptions, your date of birth, lifespan estimate, or any free-text content.
For guest (signed-out) sessions, events are tagged with an anonymous device identifier and are not linked to any account. For users who have signed in, events are tagged with your account identifier so we can understand product usage at a per-user level.
When you request account deletion, we will also delete or anonymize the analytics events associated with your account identifier within the same 90-day window described above.
